Duke Energy Franchise Agreements – Electric

The City of Dry Ridge offers opportunities for Electric utilities to operate within the city limits by the granting of franchise agreements between the utility and the city.  This is done to allow utility companies access to the public right-of-way and to negotiate certain provisions for the good of the community.  These agreements are typically for 10-20 year periods but in no way determine the price the utility charges for service.  Routinely these agreements are to secure the level of service guaranteed to the residents and dictate procedures to deal with disagreements on behalf of the citizens of Dry Ridge.
